bullet

Only if you are using the InTrw162.exe (6.9 MB) file:   you will see a "WinZip Self-Extractor" control box, leave the two check boxes checked, and click "Unzip".  (The following temporary files will be placed in your "temp" directory: InstMsiA.exe, InstMsiW.exe, setup.exe, setup.ini, InTrx162.msi.  These can be deleted once installation is finished.)  Now just follow the instructions provided by the installer.

Instructions--Upgrading from a previous version:

  1. Make a backup copy of your databases and "...inferencetrade\user\" directory.

  2. Run the Uninstaller (Windows Start-Programs-InferenceTrade-Uninstall...), this will remove InferenceTrade from your system but will leave the "...inferencetrade\" folder.  Do not remove this folder.

  3. Follow the "New Install" instructions above.  If you install to the same directory as the previous version all your set-up data will be imported.

  4. Read the "ReadMe.txt" file for any upgrade compatibility issues.

  InTrx162.msi  (4.1 MB)  InferenceTrade V1.6.2

InTrw162.exe  (6.9 MB) InferenceTrade V1.6.2 (and Windows  Installer)

bullet

Both files contain the exact same version of InferenceTrade, but the first file is smaller and faster to download.  If your computer already has the "Microsoft Windows Installer"  (MSI)  then chose the first file, otherwise chose the second one.

bullet

How do I know if my computer has the MSI ?
bullet

If you are using Windows 98 Second Edition (SE), ME, 2000, or XP  you have the MSI.

bullet

If you are using Windows 95, 98 original edition, or NT4 you might have the MSI.  A quick way to find out is to use the Windows taskbar Start--Search/Find tool to search for   msi.dll    If you have it then you can download the first file.

bullet

If you don't have the MSI, are not sure, or couldn't care less, then get the second file.  It is longer, but installs on all Windows systems from W95 and higher.

bullet

Download time with a 33.6 kb connection is about 17 minutes for the first file, 34 minutes for the second.
